TEHRAN – A local official in Khuzestan Province said that a 22-year-old man was struck and killed instantly by a thunderbolt in the mountainous area of Shahivan on Thursday, IRNA reported.

Shahivan is located in Khuzestan Province, 120 kilometers away from Dezful.
Based on the locals’ testimony, Ghaem added, about 70 sheep had already been perished by the thunderbolt.

According to IRNA, on Thursday a strong wind blowing at a speed of 60 kilometers per hour hit northern area of Khuzestan Province including the city of Dezful and damaged farms and urban facilities.

IRNA reported that in a separate incident in Chahrmahal Bakhtiari on the same day thunderbolts killed 115 sheep and injured the herd keeper.
